WE GOT A BAPTISM !!!!!!!!
Our Awesome Friend Peter has a date set and I can't wait. The weeks all blend together and I’ve only been in the field for a month.

We do a lot of finding. One day this week we had 5 1/2 hours of street contacting, Which is never very fun. In Chartes we have very faithful and awesome members, we just don't have a ton of members or Friends to teach so we end up doing a lot of finding. I wouldn't trade it for anything though. It’s an amazing place with amazing members.

We had my first inter district exchange with the Elders from Bourge. I did it with Elder Stone! If you remember that's my bro from the MTC! Love that guy. We always joked that we would be greenie broken and it came true. Such a fun time. We also share a mutual distrust for Elder Clark’s flavor pallet when it comes to ice cream. let’s just say Yogurt is not a very good ice cream flavor.

This Friday we went to Peter's house and he showed us two of the wackiest potato type things. Peter's family is from Brazil so to all my fellow missionaries who served in Brazil or are serving in a South American country, lets see if you know what it is ( It's the first photo linked).

We got very lucky there are only 5 areas with a car for Elders in our mission and one of them is Chartres. So I never thought I’d be driving in France but here I am. It’s really wacky, no right turn on red is wild. I also miss the American square roads. hahahahaha

 Spirituall thought
Elder Mathias Held
April 2024 General conference

When in health, cherish and be grateful for it every moment. When in sickness, seek to patiently learn from it and know that this can change again according to God’s will. When in sorrow, trust that happiness is around the corner; we often just cannot see it yet. Consciously shift your focus and elevate your thoughts to the positive aspects of challenges, because they are undoubtedly always there too! Never forget to be grateful. Choose to believe. Choose to have faith in Jesus Christ. Choose to always trust God. Choose to “think celestial,” as President Russell M. Nelson recently taught us!

Look at the positive in bad times and cherish the times when you truly are happy. One thing I've had to learn on my mission and learn fast is that no matter how hard you try you will have people cancel lessons and not want to be contacted again but choose to think celestial because in the end it's all one plan and it's a plan of happiness.

Peace out - Elder Smith
