Well this will be my last email in England! I leave this Wednesday morning for Charles De Gaulle Airport. This week has been an absolute rollercoaster. I am starting to fall in love with the language. It's a beautiful language, especially compared to German (which some of my other friends are learning). This week has been super fun. I am super blessed that we have a temple on the MTC grounds, we go every week to do endowments and it is amazing. This week we were able to have a rundown on the importance of family history work. I love looking back on my family lineage and figuring out where my ancestors are from.
This week has been an absolute language grind. I've been trying to translate the Book of Mormon children's stories on the gospel library which is one of my new favorite things to do. We also got some amazing news that we are able to wear blue shirts on the mission! We have two teachers who both came home from their missions in France like 1 year combined ago. If you get a chance look up Colmar France. It's the town that inspired Beauty and the Beast. It truly looks absolutely amazing.
Yesterday was amazing. We were able to get a lesson from one of the members of the 70 Elder Writing. He talked about loving our Neighbors He shared this scripture with us:
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself
Anywhere in our lives that we can show more love to the people around us, we'll be following Christ's example. And the example of Christ is what we all should strive to be like! I'm so grateful for Him and the things I've learned here. I can't wait to get to Paris France!
Sincerely, Elder Smith
