Paris Lilas pt 4!

We are running it back here in Les Lilas. It's weird to think that I will spend 1/4 of my mission in Paris. Of all the places to be stuck in, this is the best one! Serving in Paris is one of the coolest experiences. Everyday we meet someone new from a whole different background and beliefs. On one tram ride we talked to someone who is Muslim, Jewish and Buddhist. All three were so kind and didn't have any problem telling us their beliefs and letting us tell them about ours.

We also met one guy who said that God doesn't understand French or English, only Arabic? So we asked him if he believes God is all powerful and if he thinks that God can learn a language he responded with a "maybe". We ended up giving him a Book of Mormon and exchanging numbers, but he hasn't gotten back to us.

We had "raclet" at a member's house, which was delicious. It's essentially melted cheese with meat on potatoes endlessly. It's so good. He also gives us soo much food, Alex is absolutely goated!

Sunday we had a rendevous with one of our members who is a professional chef and he made us pizza wich was amazing

One thing I've grown to love is family history. This next week with our new member we are going to try and find out more of her genealogy to take to the temple. As we were preparing for this lesson, me and Elder Talbot realized that we don't know alot about our family history. So we hopped onto the app and it was genuinely so cool! Elder Talbot is essentially 100% from the south and I've got a good amount of Scottish blood. It's fun to talk and to learn about our ancestors and how much they sacrificed to be here and to give us a better life.

I really loved this talk:
The Work of the Temple and Family History—One and the Same Work

I love this talk and how it links family history and the temple.

Have a great week ESmith out
