Bonjour a tous! We just had a crazy week and it's over now and I'll tell you all about it. Two things happened to us that missionaries can all relate to: transfer news and a baptism!
We had 3 baptisms Sunday for Melissa and her 2 kids Kheleke and Meylianne. We actually went over to her house Friday night to talk about everything. I'm not kidding, every wall was filled with judo medals. I asked her which one is her favorite. She told me it wasn't there, then she went to the back and pulled out a different medal, the 2022 judo champion of the world! It was crazy cool. She is soo cool, I have a photo of their family down below before and after the baptism. Watching her progress from January to now has been an amazing experience. Our ward also did so much for them. Shout out to Souer Tancrel the GOAT. I've truly been blessed here in Les Lilas. We also were able to get 6 friends to church yesterday, which was a miracle as well.
Transfer news dropped and after 6 months here in Paris, I'm leaving for Saint-Quentin, a city up north. I'm going to be the district leader and my companion will be Elder Tuua. He will be my second Tahitian companion. They are literally the GOATS. He is also Elder Tupana's cousin. I'm so excited right now. Also Elder Slade my MTC comp is in my zone and my mission father Elder Wilstead is the Zone Leader. It's like a full family reunion! Transfers are on Wednesday. Can't wait to see all my boys on Wednesday!
Spiritual Thought
During this time we've been talking a lot about baptism and why we get baptised. Elder Millward (a senior missionary) told me a way to explain baptism that I loved. He said "baptism is an exterior way to show your inward desire to follow Him". When we are baptised we create sacred ordinances with our father in heaven. Here is what PMG says about baptism:
Baptism is the first saving ordinance of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we receive this joyous ordinance of hope, we make our first covenant with God.
I love when it says "joyous ordinance of hope". This gospel truly is the gospel of hope; this is the way we enter into the kingdom of god.
Aroha ia outou - (goodbye see you later in Tahitian)
