Hello everyone!
We're still here on a mission in Saint-Quentin France and I'm doing great. We saw soo many things. Tuesday was my hump day and we are officially starting the 365 day countdown to my release date. The mission is so fast it's hard to not let it flash before your eyes! We didn't do anything to celebrate because I didn't even realize we had passed my hump day until yesterday.
Wednesday was a pretty normal day. We met our friends Geino and Marie Ange on the road we also had District Council. I took my last sector for granted a little bit because we had in person district counsel every week now most of our district councils are on messenger by video call. On Thursday we saw an absolute miracle and we found 5 friends on the street in a 2 hour time period! We also got a really good boulangerie Thursday as well. Friday was one of my favorite days of all time on my mission we decided to go to Laon, France. If you go here look fran up Laon, France up on google maps. This place was amazing, a super old city its all built upon a hill and just a super old city with an amazing cathedral and a cathedral for the knights templar. Super cool. I took pictures of it all. There was really only one downside we were there from 10:30 to 19:15 and it was sooooooo hot like 98 degrees fahrenheit. We gave 3 book of mormons out then went to visit all our inactive members only to find out that there not inactive they just don't live there. We went to 6 houses and the family or person didn't live there, except for our last person we went and met up with and they were the most chatty person I've ever met in my entire life. They are big into family history work but in all honesty this was a really great week it was fun as well.
spiritual thought
I have a google drive of Hank Smith talks one thing he challenged everyone to think about was: "what are scriptures for you? are they a tool or a souvenir or are they something you talk about or something you live by?" then he gave us a couple ideas of how you can make scriptures a tool. One example is to write what you learned about the gospel on each page. I started doing this and love it. There are so many principles that I have missed in the past that I am starting to notice.
If you want to try it look at Alma 15 16-18 !
hope this helps and talk to you next week,
Elder Smith
