Hello! (And goodbye to Elder Gambe).
This week was crazy. We had a ton of stuff happen to us. One important thing was transfer news. My current companion is now leaving and I am receiving a new companion named Elder Jones.
I love Charleroi so much. There's no other place in the mission where we have so many stories. The members here are super cool. This last Sunday, we were blessed to have 6 friends come to church. And on top of that, a family from Germany came that I translated for. I did not realize how difficult it was to translate from French to English. I have not done it in a while, ever since I left Paris but wow! It was tough especially when the talks were about genealogy and family history work.
For the second hour at church, we had a class with our friends. One thing that really touched our friend. Elodie, was when our member shared a powerful testimony about 3 Nephi 17. It was amazing and you could see the spirit truly touching the heart of our friend.
Our district is also changing. We are getting a new companionship in our district. And there's one elder who is whitewash training in Neivelles. We also this last week had an exchange in Brussels with our Zone Leaders and it was amazing. I was able to get a little statue of a baby peeing, which is apparently really, really big in Brussels for some reason. They are so proud of it And I've absolutely no idea why.
One thing that I loved in my personal study this week was finding a scripture in 4th Nephi 1:17-18
Last week, in my email, I talked about this idea of Zion that is, if everyone works together, we can build the Kingdom of God on this Earth. The nephites and the lamanites right after the coming of Christ Built Zion. The scripture gives us the blueprint for how to build Zion!
See ya,
Elder Smith
