Bonjour a tous! I hope you're doing great! This week was totally miraculous. We had some really cool experiences and honestly. It was an amazing week. I got counsel from my mission President to live for each and every moment, so that's what I'm trying to do, just soak up all the time that I have.
Today was super fun. We got to go to the temple. It's about the first time I've been to a temple session in a little over 16 months. Total spiritual refresh. Went to the same session with a goated missionary who helped explain some cool things about the temple that I missed before. Then we're finishing off today, by going to a member's house, the Castros are amazing members.
This week was filled with a lot of funny stories. On Sunday, we saw some miracles with our friends coming to church, and Anna was baptized. She was so prepared. Gonna be an awesome help for the missionaries.
On Wednesday, we went out finding and one person that Elder Jones and I were talking to had a pretty big dog that was clearly angry at this other dog next to it. We started talking to him and he seemed genuinely interested in our message. We invited him to church and then and all of a sudden the dog he was holding swings around and his body hits my leg and his head snaps down and bites me! I was all good. I took it like an absolute champ, didn't even flinch, you know me. The funniest part was Elder Jones, my companion, then reaches down and pets that same dog that just bit me! But the guy ended up feeling really bad and we exchanged phone numbers. He told me he would come to church, but he never responded to my message. So it's okay. Sometimes we put the body on the line for the work. (Just know, Megan, that I got bit by a dog and if you don't, while you're serving in Mexico, you're not working hard enough.)
Hello this is Elder Jones talking
you need to remember to reward dogs for good behavior, so if one bites your companion, then make sure to pet it -Elder Jones
On Saturday we did a temple tour with Anna who was then baptized the next day. It was a really spiritually touching experience for everyone. She's gone through a lot in her life, and she really understands how her baptism is going to help her. And That was definitely reinforced with the temple tour.
Spiritual thought
One thing that I've been thinking a lot about recently is being in tune with the spirit. In everyone's life, we have to make choices that will alter our future for eternity. I know that coming up, the choices I will make will have an eternal impact. Especially on who I want to become and who I am right now. Our mission President gave us the challenge to read the Book of Mormon in our last 2 transfers, and I am going through and underlining all the characteristics that I want to take moving forward from the prophets in the Book of Mormon. This scripture, from Nephi, hit me really hard.
1 Nephi 3:7
And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
See you next week
